Overall Developmental Approach:
I would like to thank you for your submission which included a detailed Development Plan, map and schedule of work completed over the past year. The adjudicator would like to particularly congratulate the committee for their comprehensive development plan, the detail and clarity of which greatly acknowledges of the committees sterling work over the past year. Mark: 42 / 50 (84%)

The Built Environment:
This former garrison town on the River Liffey is now a busy commercial town with some thriving industries built up around it. The towns well presented streetscape are both welcoming and attractive. The lamps on the Liffey bridge are an eye-catching feature. In addition, the cast iron 'pillars' outside St Conleth's church are also a striking and unusual feature.
Mark: 31 / 40 (78%)

Landscaping:
The flower boxes and tubs arranged around the town have the delightful effect of enhancing the town's attractiveness. The public seating along the River walk is excellent. However the public seating in other locations around the town are in need of attention.
Mark: 36 / 40 (90%)

Wildlife and Natural Amenities:
The River Liffey is an excellent amenity for the community. The Interpretative Board at the River Walk is informative. The River Walk provides the committee with an excellent opportunity to develop a nature trail in the town. Possibly the local children could be involved in conducting an audit of the riverwalk's habitat. The contemplative space at St. Conleth's garden is a very attractive amenity for the community.
Mark: 23 / 30 (77%)

Litter Control:
Litter management has improved from last year, however small scatterings of litter were noticed around the town. The adjudicator looks forward to the installation of the new standardised litter bins over the coming year.
Mark: 21 / 40 (53%)

Tidiness:
Generally, the town is very neat and tidy. Unfortunately, some graffiti was noticed on walls on small number of the town's back streets. As was previously mentioned, the railway station has the appearance of being neglected and unkept.
Mark: 13 / 20 (65%)

Residential Areas:
There are a large number of residential areas in Newbridge. These are generally very well maintained and well presented with attractive plants, shrubs, trees and large open spaces. Representatives from other residential areas, such as from the apartments beside Ballymanny S.C should be encouraged to join the committee.
Mark: 24 / 30 (80%)

Roads, Streets and Back Areas:
In general the streets and back areas are attractive and well presented. The roundabout at Wyeth Laboratories is particularly attractive and inviting. However weed management is lacking, particularly on the approach roads. A number of the speed limit signs and directional signs should be upgraded and/or cleaned. However, overall, the town is very decorative and visually pleasing. Some of the footpaths and roads are in need of upgrading.
Mark: 30 / 40 (75%)

General Impression:
Newbridge is a busy commercial town. The tree lined main street is attractive and well maintained. It is obvious that the continued efforts of the committee has resulted in real achievements to date.
Mark: 7 / 10 (70%)
