NEWBRIDGE ENVIRONMENT WEEK – NEW '08

A NEWBRIDGE CHAMBER CSR INITIATIVE

Sponsored by BORD Na MÓNA & AES

Supported by Droichead Nua Town Council

Your Town - It's Easy to make a Difference

Newbridge is thinking and acting Green this month as Chamber's NEW'08 sub-committee near the culmination of ten months' work preparing for NEW '08 - Newbridge Environment Week! There is still time to get involved if you haven't signed up for participation yet.

You can do this by:

Pledging to turn off your lights between 9 -10a.m. on Thursday 5th June.

Promoting the green agenda in your business premises & at home during 5th - 8th June.

Business can promote their green products & services via information leaflets distributed at the various locations where NEW will be having practical demonstrations and talks.

Offering discount vouchers to the public on eco-friendly products during 5th - 7th June.

Displaying the NEW ’08 posters in your business / office to promote this initiative.

NEW ’08 will focus on how all companies, big and small, can exercise their ‘corporate social responsibility’ (CSR) in a practical and successful way. The commitment from business will vary from business to business but it can mean anything from keeping a clean street scape on your road-frontage, to fully embracing a waste reduction or recycling ethos or converting to Eco-friendly energy production in your factory or business!

The common factor is the will to change and embrace in some small way the need for better practices, which will mean a better experience for customers, the public and in turn future generations; as we try to maintain our planet in a more environmentally responsible way.

So be with us on this first Newbridge Environment Week on the 5th 6th & 7th June where we will be endeavouring to become more environmentally aware of issues relating to the core theme of NEW ’08 which are:

** Water **

** Waste **

** Energy **

The KFM Roadcaster will be broadcasting from just outside Bord na Móna for the Official Launch of NEW08 - Newbridge Environment Week - 12 noon to 3 pm on Thursday 5th June 2008. Join us There.
