    KELT is the rural development company for County Kildare and was established in 1995 to apply for LEADER II funding.     Newbridge Credit Union Ltd. was established in November 1968, and is now one of the largest Credit Unions in Ireland. Its common bond requires that members be residing or employed in the parishes of Newbridge, Caragh, Allen, Suncroft or Two-Mile-House. The Credit Union is primarily a service organisation that exists to empower people to help themselves and establish a level of independence that improves the quality of their own lives and the community as a whole.

    Newbridge Access Group was formed in 1997. Its members are people with disabilities as well as parents, partners, and carers who live in the Newbridge area.
    The main aims of the group are:
    To make Newbridge barrier free, to make people aware of the needs of all people with disabilities, to encourage both the private and public sectors to make their premises disability friendly, to encourage local and national bodies to make the outdoor environment accessible to everybody, to offer advice on how this can be achieved, to create a fully inclusive society in Newbridge.
