Heritage Signage in the Park
Newbridge Tidy Towns Association have received a positive response from The Heritage Council and have been approved for a grant towards the cost of providing further heritage signage in the Liffeyside Amenity Area.
The first phase of signage was installed in the park last summer when signage and lecterns detailing the towns history, Fauna & Flora, Fish Life etc were erected on the Liffeyside in Newbridge.

This project was co-financed by The Heritage Council, Rotary Club of Newbridge, North Kildare Trout & Salmon Anglers Association, Droichead Nua Town Council and the Tidy Towns Association.
There is a need for further signage at the Liffeyside Park, and following the recommendations contained in the Tidy Towns Adjudicators report for 2004, we would like to expand the number of lecterns to include details on Butterflies and Insects, Native Trees, Bats and Waterside Flowers. It is also intended to erect three "finger posts" pointing out a nature trail through the park.
The signage erected last summer have met with approval from park users, and we have been asked to expand the range of information available on the wildlife and habitats along the River Liffey.
The lecterns will be manufactured to a very high specification, and work has already commenced on gathering the information which will be used on the lecterns. The design and printing of the information posters which will be positioned in the lecterns will also be of a very high quality.
The total estimated cost of the project is in excess of 9,000 Euro, already The Heritage Council , Kildare County Council (Community & Enterprise Section) , Curragh-Tintawn Carpets Ltd. and The Rotary Club of Newbridge have agreed to support this years project, and we would welcome additional sponsorship.
